Today we have our very first post by Abby, the newest member of our ELS Sydney team.  If you have not met her, Abby is the smiling face that greets you every day at ELS Sydney.  She has experienced life as an international student and only recently moved to Sydney herself so she has a lot in common with our ELS students. The Big Issue Street Football Festival kicks off tomorrow, Friday 18 January 2013. Over 11 days, 300 football (or ‘soccer’ in Australia) matches will be played on a floating field on the waters of Darling Harbour in Sydney. Each year the event attracts 140,000 spectators. The event is held to celebrate diversity and aims to bring the community together through football.

Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings amazed guests last Saturday night. It was a fantastic night of music and dancing and the crowd was absolutely wonderful – such a great vibe.

Experience this again at the next two free Domain events. One is this weekend and the other is on Australia Day.
