Academic English 3 (AE 3)

(previously EAP2) 

This course prepares you for further study at Australian vocational colleges and TAFE. It is competency-based, which means that you demonstrate your skills throughout the course by completing a number of practical academic language tasks. You do not have formal exams but must successfully complete all of the tasks in order to pass each course.

These competencies include:

  • Investigative report writing
  • Note-taking from an oral source
  • Writing an exposition/argument
  • Research skills
  • Academic listening and reading
  • Use of computer software for academic purposes

Key facts
Entry requirements: Successful completion of our pre-entry test at the college prior to course commencement

OR Completion of AE 2 with a Grade A or B

OR IELTS 5.0 (minimum 5.0 in each section)
(Approximately equivalent to GV Sydney UEC Intermediate)

Course duration: 8 weeks
Hours per week: 22.5 hours/week face to face teaching
