Academic English 4 (AE 4)

(previously EAP 3)

Our AE 4 course prepares you for further study at an Australian university. It is task-based, which means that you demonstrate your skills throughout the course by completing a number of practical academic language tasks. You do not have formal exams but must successfully complete all of the tasks in order to pass each course.

These tasks include:

  • Use of reference skills to access information
  • Internet research skills
  • Higher-level reading, writing and listening skills for tertiary study purposes
  • Numerical report writing
  • Oral presentations
  • Use of computer software for academic purposes

Key facts
Entry requirements: Successful completion of pre-entry test prior to course commencement

OR Completion of AE 3 with a Grade A or B

OR IELTS 5.5 (minimum 5.5 in each section) for courses requiring and IELTS 6.0
(Approximately equivalent to  UEC Upper Intermediate)

OR IELTS 6.0 (minimum 6.0 in each section) for courses requiring IELTS 6.5
(Approximately equivalent to UEC Lower Advanced)

Course duration: 8 weeks
Hours per week: 22.5 hours/week face to face teaching
