What is the IELTS test?

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is an examination used to assess the English skills of non-native English speakers. It is widely recognised around the world and is the current test used for entry to many university and tertiary institutions and also for applications for permanent residency in Australia.  

The exam tests ability at 4 skills: reading, listening, writing and speaking, and is available at two levels: Academic and General Training.

IELTS Academic - This test is used for admission to university and other tertiary courses in Australia.

IELTS General Training - This test is used for entry to high school and for application for permanent residency.
