Feeling Homesick? Part 2

Feeling Homesick? Part 2

In our last post we have given students from Latin America, Spain & Japan some places they can go if they are feeling a little Homesick. This post we will be showing some more great places to visit in Sydney.

Korea
- There are quite a few places to eat and shop for Korean food in the suburb of Campsie. See this website for trains to Campsie www.131500.com.au
- Boombina! This Korean restaurant has had excellent reviews on food blogs. It is tucked away on Kent Street near the Spanish quarter. Try the beef bulgogi – YUM! Meals around $10 - $20. 545 Kent Street Sydney Phone: 9283 3322

Germany
- Visit the Concordia Club for beer, dancing and delicious food! www.concordiaclub.org.au
- For beer, food and wonderful atmosphere visit the Bavarian Beir Cafe www.bavarianshavemorefun.com
- Want to meet up with some German expatriates? See this website: http://expatgerman.meetup.com/cities/au/sydney/

Thailand
- There are many Thai restaurants in Sydney and especially Newtown. One of the best is Thai Pathong - www.thaipothong.com.au.
- Thai on a budget? Try ‘Chat Thai’ – you can find this great value for money restaurant in The Galleries Victoria food court (just across the road form our college!) – don’t confuse this one with the more expensive but extremely irresistible ‘Chat Thai’ in Haymarket…
- The best traditional Thai food in Sydney, and probably outside of Thailand is at Spice I Am. When I say everything here is good, I mean it. Try the som tum, fish cakes, ho mok, and pad prik king! www.spiceiam.com

France
- Film - ‘See Le Herisson’ (The Hedgehog) showing at Dendy Cinemas www.dendy.com.au
- Doing a bit of French cooking? Get your supplies from Bitton Gourmet Café and Grocer www.bittongourmet.com.au

Do you have some ideas? Let us know!

Stay tuned for some great places in Sydney for international students - and anyone else!

October in Sydney- Crave festival!

October in Sydney is jam packed with fun events, exhibitions, shows and they named it Crave Sydney. There is just so much to do and see such as the International food festival, Darling Harbour Fiesta (last post), Island hopper (discover the islands around Sydney), Breakfast on the Bridge (exactly that! Have breakfast on the iconic symbol of Sydney- our Harbour Bridge)

One of my favourites is the World’s Funniest Island at Cockatoo Island so if you want a bit of a laugh check it out

I was a student once too and know money can be tight so check out some free events at this link Get into Crave Sydney!
