Your first day - orientation

 
Your first day at ELS Universal English College will begin with our excellent orientation program to welcome you to our school.

Please arrive at 8:30am. The program for the day is as follows:

Register 
Check in at the Reception area on Level 1

Welcome, placement test & Total Support interview
After a warm welcome you will sit our English test to establish your English level. As part of Total Support, you will then have a one-to-one interview with one of our teachers to determine your study needs.

Morning tea and “Meet the Staff”
Meet our teachers and staff while enjoying morning tea.

Registration orientation
Our helpful student services staff will provide you with detailed information about the school, work rights, visa requirements, social club activities, and answer any questions that you may have.

Library orientation and school tour
Our knowledgeable library staff will show you how to use the library and items available. A tour of the school facilities will then follow.

Academic orientation
Our qualified teachers will cover specific details of the course you are enrolled in and provide information on using the computer rooms.

Student services orientation
You will be issued with your Student ID card and your Orientation pack. You can use your student card to receive student admission (discounted prices) to cinemas and many tourist attractions. Student services staff  will also provide detailed information on work rights, visa requirements, social club activities, college rules and the roles of staff members.

Accommodation orientation
Students in our accommodation program will receive general information from our friendly homestay team and can ask any questions or raise any issues. As part of Total Support, students will meet with the homestay team 2 weeks after arrival and then on a monthly basis to ensure that they are enjoying their experience.
