What our Students Say

Vivian, China

I studied the HSP course at UEC (GV Sydney) and then went to Burwood Girls High for Years 11 and 12. I completed my HSC and achieved a UAI score of 99.65. I also received the “Premier’s Award for All Round Excellence”.

I am now studying a Bachelor of Commerce degree at Sydney University. The College prepared me well for my future studies. My English greatly improved and the English Only Please policy also really helped. The teachers and student services staff are very friendly, helpful and make you feel welcome. The way they teach makes learning interesting.

I had fun at study and play and met students of different nationalities that I still keep in contact with. I enjoyed it so much that I recommended my cousin study at UEC and she has!

I really enjoyed the High School program at UEC.  My English has improved a lot, especially my listening and speaking skills and my vocabulary knowledge. It was interesting to study school subjects in English.  I also liked meeting kids from other countries and I made lots of friends.

I stayed with a great homestay family who live near a beach. I went surfing regularly and surfed with some of the family members. I saw and did a lot of things in Sydney. It's a good city and I had a really cool time there.

I really enjoyed preparing for an Australian high school at Universal English College (GV Sydney). I started in Year 10 at Kuringah Creative Arts High school this year. I have recently been awarded 2 merit letters – one for English and one for Science. I am very pleased with my English result as I am in an English class with local students, not an ESL class. I received a merit award for the essay I wrote – my teacher said it was “outstanding” and she does not usually give out awards.

I am currently working for one week at the Hotel Ibis as part of my work experience and would like to continue my study at a hotel/hospitality college after high school.

I chose to study at UEC (GV Sydney) because a friend of the family recommended the college. The teachers have really helped me to improve my English. My writing has improved a lot and I have much more confidence in my speaking skills. I found the classes fun and easy to understand, and the teachers were good at explaining language points to the students.

I also learnt a lot about Australian high schools by visiting 2 Sydney schools during my time at UEC. I am now studying in Australia at James Cook High School.
