Orientation

Your first day at Universal English College (GV Sydney) will begin with our excellent orientation program at 8.30am. It covers the following:

  • A placement test – this is when we assess your English level
  • 360° Total Care service – this begins with a personal interview to determine your study needs and goals
  • Morning Tea and “Meet the Staff”
  • Library information – this covers how to use the library and the items available
  • A tour of the College
  • Academic information – this covers specific details about your program and includes guidelines for computer use
  • Homestay information – any questions about your homestay family or our service will be answered

On your second day, you will be issued with your Student ID card. Your student card will give you access to a range of discounts in food courts and cafes across the road from and in the same building as the College. You can also use it for student admission to cinemas and many tourist attractions.

Our helpful Student Services staff will provide you with detailed information on College rules, work rights, visa requirements and social club activities, and answer any questions that you may have.
